Eight of Fire

The Eight of Fire means things are going, going, going at a fast pace! For some people, this can be really good. They may have felt stuck, and now things are finally kicking into gear and moving along. So good things are happening, all the plans you've made are finally manifesting, and you're reaping the rewards of your hard work.

But for other people, Eight of Fire and the frenzy of activity that it indicates, can be overwhelming. Maybe they didn't expect things to be this intense. Or maybe they didn't expect that their plans would result in this much work. So for some people the Eight of Fire is like "Oh, no! I can't take this."

So while the first set of people are going, "At last! Bring it on!", the second set are going, "Oh, crap." Either way, it's actually a good card. The Divine message, for both sets, is to stay grounded. For the first set, don't let it go to your head. Don't get carried away. Ride it out, keep a level-head. For the second set, don't get overwhelmed. Don't let this creep in and destroy your already fragile self-confidence.

This flurry of activity is not only a manifestation of your plans, it's also a growth opportunity and life lesson for you on self-confidence. Things are good -- hectic, but good -- and the angels are with you, as always.

Seven of Fire

Seven of Fire indicates that there's a conflict going on. The angels see this, and they want you to know that you're right. You're on the right side here. But Earthly matters aren't always aligned with what is right, so even though you're *right*, you need to defend yourself.

The good news is that the Divine powers are with you and supporting you. The picture shows a woman riding a dragon. The dragon symbolizes the strength that you have through the Divine forces. The big message here is that you need to see this through and stay the course. It doesn't mean you have to go nutso, it means that you should not give up.

The old saying, "There is strength in gentleness and gentleness in strength" comes to mind. Stay strong. Don't let this get you down. Don't let this make you bitter. It's not going to be easy, and there might be a point where you become discouraged. If you get to a point where you think this situation is unfair or unjust, stay strong. It will eventually work out, but you need to stay focused.

You have the power to defend yourself, and you need to do that now. Call upon the angels and the Divine forces to help you, because that's what they're there for. You can do this.

Six of Fire

Six of Fire is a very clear card. It's message is: Victory!

So often, people are unsure if they're doing the right thing. The usually have a pretty good sense if they should continue on, or switch course; but they often need some extra encouragement or reassurance. The Six of Fire indicates, without a doubt, that not only are you doing the right thing, but you are going to see positive results from this endeavor.

When Six of Fire comes up, it may also mean that you will be publicly recognized or rewarded for your previous hard work. This card is all about good news and good fortune, particularly related to a job situation.

Some cards are pretty deeply layered, but the Six of Fire isn't. I like to see it come up for two reasons. The first, of course, is that it's good news! The second is that it's so clear. There are no "buts" or "what ifs" with this card. All is good, good, good. :)

Five of Fire

The Five of Fire indicates conflict. When things like this come up, it's not in the light of negativity or to be discouraging. The angels simply acknowledge that this is not a good time. Sometimes it helps when someone puts their arms around you and says, "This is tough, my friend," and that's what the angels are doing with this card. It's like a big, gentle, loving hug in your time of need.

If this card comes up in the future position, it means that you may have a bit of a rough road coming up. But don't worry, the angels will walk with you. You will get through. If Five of Fire comes up in the past, they're acknowledging the conflict that you've already went through.

This card is also a bit subjective. Personally, I don't like conflict. It's very upsetting and I don't handle it well. But there are people who are actually motivated by conflict. The conflict inspires them to take much-need action, that they probably wouldn't otherwise do, so it's more of a motivator than a stressor to them.

One of the major messages this card carries is that difficult times don't last forever, and you are able to get through this and get to a better place. It's not going to be easy, though. Ask for the help of the angels, and make as much effort as you possibly can to bring this to a favorable resolution.

Four of Fire

Four of Fire is a great card. I'm always happy to see this come up for people. The Four of Fire indicates that things are good! It means you have a happy home life, you're at peace, and you have abundance.

The difficulties that you'd been having are over. Your efforts have paid off, and you're now enjoying the rewards of your hard work. This card can also mean an upcoming marriage, depending on what else is coming up around it. (Which, in a way, a wedding can mean a happy end of the search for a spouse.)

I've had this card come up for people who wonder if their financial problems are finally over, and yes -- this indicates all the work to get out of debt is done, and there won't be any huge unexpected expenses in the foreseeable future. If the concern is about problems with family or in the workplace, those problems are resolved now.

So if you're still waiting for the other shoe to drop, stop! Bask in the knowledge that things are better now. All is well!

Three of Fire

Today's card is the Three of Fire. When this card comes up, that angels are acknowledging that you're doing everything right, but they see that things aren't moving fast enough for you. Their message is to have patience. Don't give up. This IS the right path.

Even though there's a lull in the action, this is not the time to take it easy. Actively re-group. Take this time to re-fuel, re-energize, and re-ignite your passion. If you're feeling discouraged about the seemingly slow pace of forward motion, take this time to re-kindle your enthusiasm.

You're on the right path. It's going to take a little bit longer, so don't get frustrated or discouraged. Instead, use this time to re-affirm your dreams and desires. You may want to be more specific about the steps you need to take to reach your goal, but do so in a gentle and encouraging way. Patience is a virtue, and you will be rewarded for following through on this.

Two of Fire

The Two of Fire tells are that good things are happening. You're moving in the right direction, so keep it up! If you're thinking of taking on some new creative projects, full steam ahead! If you're feeling motivated to take steps to move ahead in your career, this is the time to do it!

If you're experiencing resistance or setbacks on your path, this card lets you know that these are temporary. You really ARE on the right path, so stick with it.

The number two is of significance here in the sense of partnership. If you're considering a project with another person, this card is saying "Yes, that's a good thing." Two of Fire may also indicate the need to get help from another person, even if it's on a temporary basis.

This card is very encouraging and affirming. You're doing the right thing, keep it up!

Ace of Fire

The Ace of Fire has a very positive message, so when it comes up for you it means "All systems go!"

Ace is the first, so that means new or beginnings; and fire represents dreams, ideals, inspiration, creativity, and artistic pursuits. Fire can also represent career, risk-taking, or self-development.

When I see the Ace of Fire, I think of it as the angels way of saying, "Yes! This is a great idea! Go for it!" If you're wondering if this new opportunity is right for you, yes, yes it is! If you're wondering if you should take something to the next level, yes, yes, follow your dreams! Thinking of making a major life change? Go ahead -- the angels are blessing it!

If you haven't been considering exploring new ideas and the Ace of Fire comes up, it indicates that an excellent opportunity is going to present itself to you. I love to see the Ace of Fire come up because it means really good things are happening.

New Ideas

I have a new idea for my blog. I've decided that I'm going to work my way through the Angel Tarot Card deck one card at a time and share its meaning with you. There are 78 cards, and I plan to post three times a week, so this is going to be a fairly long project. I'm hoping that my readers find it as interesting as I do!

The plan now is to stay on track and go in order, starting with the minor arcana. So it'll go Fire, Water, Air,  Earth -- a post on each card from each suit -- then on the the major arcana. Unless, of course, I feel a calling to talk about something else. In that case, I'll get that message out and then I'll get back on track.

I want to mention that if you're following along and something REALLY strikes you, that's because it's a message for you. The heavenly realm sends us messages in so many ways. It could be a song on the radio, a street sign, or this blog.

I'm looking forward to this new project, and I hope you are, too!

Good Luck and Archangel Michael

The last card this week is The Wheel. The Wheel is a great card because it means positive changes and good luck. If you've felt like you were stuck or things weren't moving, that's going to change. Everything starts moving in a positive direction now. If you recently went through some setbacks, now you see how that was part of the bigger plan.

The Archangel for this card is Michael. So many people say Michael is their favorite angel so it's just so fitting that he's part of this. He's the angel of strength and protection, and as these changes happen, he's right there surrounding you with Divine strength and protection, and blessing you. As you go through these wonderful changes -- and they're major, so even though they're good, you might feel overwhelmed at times -- call upon Michael for guidance.

Trusting Your Positive Instincts

Today's card is The Moon. When The Moon comes up, it's often because things aren't going the way you thought they would, and you may be feeling discouraged or hopeless. The Moon asks us to look at situations from an objective and spiritual viewpoint. Objectively, you have to ask yourself how much of this situation is really true, and how much of it is you projecting negative feelings and attitudes on it. The spiritual side of this situation is really important, because that's where you'll find your answers.

The Moon reminds you to trust your intuition. Get back in touch with the Divine realm. Whatever is happening on Earth is temporary. Don't be discouraged, don't take it personally.

Know the angels will guide you through this difficult time. Don't be afraid of the situation, but also, don't be afraid to release your fears. Sometimes our fears are so familiar to us that we'd rather have them than have the unknown.  It's likely that you've held on to these fears and self-defeating attitudes for way too long. If they used to serve you well, they don't anymore.

In all of your self-talk, there's a positive voice. It's there. It might be little, and you might not be paying attention to it, but it's there and you can hear it. The angels are telling you to trust that little voice inside with the positive message.

Decisions

I'm getting back in the swing of things this week, so I said a little prayer and pulled three cards. I was surprised to see that all three cards are major arcana, so it looks like this is going to be a big week!

When I said my prayer, I felt that someone really needs to hear this. (As opposed to a general message, or a message for me.) So I don't know who this is for, but if you came here with a question about a big decision or a legal matter, this is for you.

The card is Justice, which indicates decision making. If you're involved in a legal proceeding, this card is the angels' way of telling you that things will be decided in your favor.

If you're trying to make a big decision in your life, the angels are advising you to be fair. Look at all sides of the situation and act from a place of goodness. Do the right thing. Don't be afraid to stand up for your beliefs, and if you need someone else's advice or support, ask for it.

Is it all in the attitude?

So, things went from bad to worse since my last post. I got some bad news which sort of left me reeling, and I also found out that I'll need to have surgery and go through a four week recovery period. *sigh*

But, what I want to talk about today is attitude. After having our house ransacked, I STILL had a feeling of dread. And rightly so. I knew that this "bad luck" wasn't over, and it wasn't.

I see a lot of things about how having a positive attitude makes positive things happen in your life, and I'm here to say that that is a really dangerous way to think. A positive attitude can help you deal with tragedy, but it doesn't prevent tragedy. We are not that powerful. To suggest otherwise is to deny Divine Power.

But, anyhow, I just wanted to do a quick check-in. Emotionally, I'm on the mend; but physically and financially I have some challenges coming up. I hope to be back in full-swing soon.

Krystal Kay White

Tests or Signs?

Last week, I had a feeling of physical pain, as if someone grabbed me under my ribs and was applying constant, painful, gripping pressure. This was accompanied by a *sense* (that unexplainable, yet knowing feeling) of material loss.  We've not yet received all the bills for a few devastating incidents that happened in 2012, so I thought the sense of loss was me projecting anxiety into the future. Meanwhile, I could not figure out what that physical feeling was trying to tell me. I asked the angels, and didn't get any answers. I know sometimes they just don't want us to know in advance, so I left it at that. If it's not clear, it's not meant to be known.

Long story short -- our home was broken into, ransacked, and buglarized. (The pain left me the morning of the burglary, so now I know what *that* meant.) Now everyone is waiting for me to share the happy ending. Well, there is no happy ending. I have faith that the next catastrophe -- house fire, car theft, expensive near death experience -- is right around the corner. I've lived this way for years, and I don't sense that anything's going to change.

In life, there are tests and there are signs. Tests are challenges. Tests are learning experiences. Tests are growth opportunities. I've been through many tests. Signs bring clear messages. Signs are not easily mistaken. Signs should not be ignored. I'm taking this last blow as a sign.  I'm tired, I'm discouraged, and I don't have the desire to "try" anymore. My volunteer work has been draining, and my blogging is just another commitment, so I plan to discontinue both indefinitely.

The nicest thing I can do for myself right now is to give myself a break, so that's were I'll be -- on indefinite break.

Self Encouragement

I was thinking about what my Friday post would be, and I got the word "encouragement". So I went to one of my oracle decks to find the "Encouragement Card", and guess what? There isn't one. So I asked God and the great Divine healing powers, the Ascended Masters, and the angels to send me a clear message. I pulled out the Angel Tarot deck and got the Nine of Fire: "Don't give up!"

If that's not encouragement, I don't know what is! The suit of Fire is about our ideas and passions, and the nine is about protecting them. You have built something special. You ARE something special. Don't let outside events or people undermine your confidence, destroy your ambition, or sabotage your plans.

Be nice to yourself. Say kind words to yourself. You are strong, knowledgeable, and powerful. Know this. Believe this. Defend this.

As the weekend approaches, be mindful of your self-talk. If it's not encouraging, re-word it. Have confidence in yourself and know that the angels see the best in you. They are working on your behalf. The more you encourage yourself, the easier it is to connect with the angels.

Accepting Life's Changes

Today's oracle card is "Hello and Good-bye" from the Magical Unicorn deck. As the words imply, something's coming, something's going -- things are changing. We have to be able to take things in stride. As one situation begins, we say hello; as another ends, we say good-bye.

The images on this card are filled with fairy tale symbolism. In the background we see a magical castle, which instantly makes me think of Cinderella. I also see Mother Goose, Henny Penny, and one of the dwarfs (since he's smiling I think he's Happy). Puss-in-boots, the Gingerbread man, the tortoise,  and the frog and the prince are all there, too. There are two children (Jack and Jill?) on a winged horse (Pegasus) moving through all this, and Tinkerbell flies nearby.

This scene reminds us of the changes we've already been through. We've left the phase of being read to. We were able to say good-bye to it easily. As other interests and growth opportunities entered our life, it seemed natural to say hello to them and move effortlessly toward them.

As we get older, saying good-bye becomes more difficult. Saying hello -- learning new things, accepting change -- can be daunting. This card assures us that this is the natural cycle of life. The words at the bottom of this card are "You'll soon see that this change will make things better."

If you're at a point where a change is going on, be assured that it's for the best. Know that going through changes can be as easy and effortless as saying hello and good-bye.

Finding Inspiration

Where do you find inspiration? I'd like to say that I'm always centered in love and light and I don't need any help, but nothing could be further from the truth. I'm constantly searching for a Good Word or a sign.

And I'm constantly finding it.

I find it in a lot of places. I have several books of daily readings, which are probably my primary source of inspiration. I also have a Bible and A Course in Miracles, but honestly, sometimes they can be difficult to interpret. And with the Bible, I can't really open it to any page and start reading because I could very well find myself in the middle of a war, or an affair, or something! So I mainly stick to my God or angel based books, which were written with the sole purpose of providing a little nugget of wisdom to use throughout the day.

I also consult the cards. (Of course!) There's always something to think about and internalize there. Sometimes I need guidance, sometimes I need reassurance-- the cards always know.

I pray, I meditate, I center myself in love and light. As I write this, a Bible verse comes to mind. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7) And so it is when looking  for Divine Inspiration.

Shielding Yourself with Love

Today's oracle card is Love. "The answer that you're seeking is love." That's so simple, yet so profound.

Isn't life better when you're in a good mood? Things don't bother you as much when all is well in your little corner of the world, right? That's because you've shielded yourself with Love. (And you may not have even been aware of it when it happened. But looking back, it makes sense, doesn't it?)

What if you could have that feeling all the time? You can! When you live in love, everything seems better. You have more patience and more compassion. And what you send out comes back to you.

As the weekend approaches, maybe this would be a good time to practice shielding yourself with Love. When you're feeling upset or unsettled, bring yourself back to the state of Love. Love is a Divine gift that you can call upon at any time. You just have to remember to do it.

Oracle Cards

I pulled out the Magical Unicorn Oracle Card deck for today's reading. Oracle cards are a little different than tarot.

The oracle cards carry a simple, direct message. They don't often have more than one meaning, and they don't necessarily have to be interpreted. Oracle cards send a clear message, and can also be used as a prompt for meditation.

Today's card is Pets. It's very simple. The top simply says "Pets", and the bottom says, "You love and understand animals." This card reminds us of the love we have for our pets, and the important role they play in our lives. Pets are symbols of unconditional love. They are an outlet for our nurturing skills. They are wonderful companions in or daily life.

If you think of a pet who has passed on, that thought has probably come to you because your pet wanted to stop by and say hi. Their spirits live on, and come back to visit us.

Today, take a minute to know that your pets appreciate you as much as you appreciate them.

The Waiting Is the Hardest Part

Today's card is the Seven of Earth. This card indicates "seeds well planted".

Earth is the suit of home, job, school, money, and the Earth itself. In other words, Earth signifies Earthly matters. When the Seven of Earth comes up, the angels are re-assuring you that everything is unfolding (growing) the way it should be. The "seeds that you've planted", the projects that you've started, the path that you've taken, is good. The progress may not be happening as quickly as you would like, but it's happening. Have patience, and don't worry. A plant doesn't grow over night.

The Old Testament says there's "...a time to plant and a time to harvest." (Ecclesiastes 3:2, New Living Translation) But we often forget about the time in between. The waiting time.

So if you're in a time of waiting, or a holding pattern, don't worry! You're right where you're supposed to be right now. Relax, and rest assured that everything will turn out well.

Krystal Kay White

Moving On

Today's card is Release, a card that indicates the end of a phase or situation. Sometimes we're glad to see a situation end, but when it does, do we truly let it go, or are we still carrying it around with us?

This card reminds me of an ancient Zen story.

Two monks were on a pilgrimage. One day, they came to a deep river. At the edge of the river, a young woman sat weeping, because she was afraid to cross the river without help. She begged the two monks to help her. The younger monk turned his back. The members of their order were forbidden to touch a woman.

But the older monk picked up the woman without a word and carried her across the river. He put her down on the far side and continued his journey. The younger monk came after him, scolding him and berating him for breaking his vows. He went on this way for a long time.

Finally, at the end of the day the older monk turned to the younger one. "I only carried her across the river. You have been carrying her all day."

What's done is done. Learn what you need from it, keep the good, but don't carry the bad with you any longer.

Easter, Communion, and Overwhelming Love

Today is Easter, church is over, dinner is over, and I have some quiet time at the computer. Time to reflect.

This morning the minister gave a sermon on the crucifixion. It's the Easter story that we all know, but she told it differently. She talked about the King of Jews being nailed to a cross, and all the while praying for the people who were crucifying him. She said that he died to bring the world overwhelming love. I swear, overwhelming love -- that's what she said. Not everlasting love, (although that's implied in the story) but overwhelming love.

She went on to talk about Jesus's blood being caught in the Holy Grail, but not all of it. Some droplets fell to the ground. In each place where a drop of Christ's blood hit the Earth, a beautiful flower, shrub, or tree grew. What a lovely way to put a comforting twist on an otherwise gruesome scene. Images of Hollywoood's gore and fire-and-brimstone preaching can be put aside. In today's story, Jesus's blood was shed, and beauty sprang from it.

During the next part of the service, we went up to light a candle for our loved ones who have transitioned, and were invited to take a communion cup (wafer and juice) back to our seats with us. As I sat holding my communion cup, these words came to me:

Eat this, as a symbol of the body of Christ, and let it nourish you with overwhelming love.

Drink this, as a symbol of the body of Christ, and let it grow into beauty.

I wanted to share The Reverend's words. I wanted to share the message that I received through her. I feel that I can call upon those words and their meaning at any time. (I know a lot of religions have very specific rules, and I don't necessarily buy into a lot of those rules.) I feel that I can have a "holy communion" at any time. And so can you.

Good Friday and Gabriel

Today is Good Friday and I'm thinking about Archangel Gabriel. I'll admit it's not exactly Easter-y, since Gabriel is most often associated with the Christmas story. But, being the angel of communication, I've been calling on him a lot this week.

Archangel Gabriel is known to play many roles. He's the messenger of God. He's the strength of God, the power of God. He also symbolizes purity and truth, and is known to help with overcoming fears and providing motivation.

What a great entity to call upon during this holiday weekend. Family "together time" can get stressful, and we might need to call on Gabriel for a little extra Divine strength to get through it.

Happy Easter!

Good News

Today's card is the Six of Fire: Victory! Good news is on its way! Public recognition. This is a really great card for Holy Week, and it landed right on Maundy Thursday.

That Thursday, things weren't looking good for Jesus, King of the Jews. He was going to trial. Last week he was hailed as a hero, this week he's facing the death penalty. Pontius Pilate might pardon someone, but it wasn't likely to be Jesus.

So how can good news be on the way? Victory? Public recognition? Jesus was facing the prospect of a gruesome death.

But we all know how it turned out:

On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.*

Good news, indeed.

In love and light,

Re-visiting Indecision

The third card this week is Two of Air, which surprised me because in the short time that I've been blogging, it's one of the handful of cards that I've already talked about.

This card is about the inability or unwillingness to make a decision, even though, intuitively, you know what the decision should be. I know I'm not the only one to struggle with the plague of second-guessing everything I do, say, or think; but I was still like, "Hm. The Two of Air. Again?"

The card I pulled after the Two of Air was the King of Air. The King of Air tells us to speak our minds with confidence. Alright-y, then. Speak my mind with confidence. But wait -- it also says to seek professional advice. So maybe getting an affirmation from someone trustworthy is in order.

Clearly, we can't be stuck in indecision forever. I believe that each of us has the ability to make good decisions on our own, but today's message is that it's OK to bounce your ideas off someone you trust.

We are not in this world alone.

Spring Awakenings

The second card this week is "Awakening" from the Angel Tarot deck. The message of Awakening is to see things from a different perspective. Again, what an appropriate card for spring!

How can you look out a window in winter, then look out the very same window in spring, and have the same perspective? As the quiet blanket of winter gives way to the noisy colors of spring, you witness an awakening. The stillness of winter is over, and the re-birth of spring is here.

Spring brings obvious changes to our world  -- snow gives way to grass, barren trees bud, birds sing. We have more daylight, we have more energy. It would be nice if all of our spiritual awakenings were as obvious as the changing of the seasons, but they are often much more subtle. Maybe they need to be so as not to overwhelm us.

As we awaken from our self-imposed winter hibernation, I pray that we will all find ourselves in full bloom again.

A Creative Twist

This week I decided to let the Angels and Ascended Masters guide me to draw a card for each day of the week. The card for Monday is the Three of Earth, which is about the power of creativity. It's kind of cool that this card came up, because the week before last, we talked about being creative, and the freedom that creativity can release.

It's also interesting to me that it's an Earth card. Earth cards can refer to things that are happening with job, money, school, and home life; in other words, Earthly matters. But, Earth cards can also refer to the Earth itself, in the Mother Nature sense. So with spring officially starting last week, an Earth card seems so appropriate.

The Beauty of Life

Take time this weekend to notice the beauty that is life. Notice it in such places as nature, song, and each other. No matter where we look we can find beauty, if only we look deep enough.

When was the last time you stopped, even for a second or two, to look at the sun or the moon? And if you do stop, do you stop just long enough to notice, or do you truly pause to experience it on a different level?

If you stop to look at flowers, do you also pause to smell them? When you stop for a beautiful sight, do you take time to reflect on it? Do you give thanks that it came into your life at that moment?

This weekend will be a time for me to make a conscious effort to notice, and to give thanks for, all the beauty that surrounds me.

Emotional Healing

This week, it seems like I was drawn to discussing how to deal with challenging situations. I didn't really do it on purpose, I just blog about whatever comes to mind. After three posts on that, I felt like I've said all I wanted to say about it for now.

So, needing a blog post for Thursday, I turned to a deck of cards called Magical Unicorns. I haven't looked at them in a while, but I felt I would find inspiration there.

I pulled the "Healer" card, and instantly felt amazed. It's so appropriate, so Divinely inspired. (As if it would have happened any other way. And while I wish I would have thought of it on my own, this is just more proof that I need the Holy Spirit's guidance.) The Healer card says, "You have the power to help and heal others." That power comes through us from the Divine.

Emotional healing is all about having faith and asking for Divine guidance, and living life to be of service to others. Isn't that an awesome way to deal with challenges? What a great reminder this is, and for that I'm grateful.

Overcoming Difficulties

It's so easy to get bogged down in negativity when bad things happen, but we always need to ask ourselves if there's a bigger reason why this is happening. In the grand scheme of things, the biggest growth opportunities are often the most painful.

When you're in a difficult place, realize that it's bigger than you. We so often think we can take care of matters that only God can take care of. Imagine God telling you, "Don't worry, just let me guide you. I'll take care of you, if you let me."

The second thing to realize is that this may not be about you. I know that's hard to process when something is clearly affecting you, but you just might be a player in someone else's journey. As much as it pains you to see what's going on, know that there will come a time when the difficulties end.

It's only in realizing that you can't control difficult situations that you find peace. Instead of looking at it through the lens of frustration, try to look at it through the lens of love. Know that everything is happening exactly the way it's supposed to, and when it's time for you to understand it, you will.

Release Your Fears

We're all afraid of something. As we mature, we become less and less likely to share our fears, so we stuff them down or ignore them, hoping they die of neglect. But they usually don't. They know when they're being ignored, and they start yelling louder.

So here they are, yelling, "Look! Look!" and we wonder why we get moody. We get moody because the possibility of everything good turning bad is unsettling. But what we need to ask ourselves is, "Is it true? Are these fears real?"

There are many reasons why fear might be popping up. Maybe it's there to tell you to take action. Or maybe it's there to tell you that particular phase of your life is over, and you don't need to carry this fear around anymore. Whatever the reason is, it's not a mystery. Intuitively, you know why the fear is there and you know how to overcome it.

When a fear is holding you back, look within and ask yourself if truly you want to move forward. When you're ready, release your fears. Hand them over to a Higher Power, and if they come back, let them know that they are no longer welcome.

Surround Yourself with Like-Minded People

In an earlier post we talked about how being around negative people doesn't make you a better person. Today we're going to talk about the advantages of being around positive  people.

When you surround yourself with like-minded people, you create an emotional support group. Their presence lifts you up spiritually and enriches your Earthly life. It's very important for each of us to have that positive force in our daily lives.

If you're searching for a safe, supportive network of people, call upon Archangel Sandalphon, the angel of prayer, to help you. When you can't quite get to that Higher level, give your prayers to Sandalphon and he'll take them there. He's also the Archangel of music, so you may want to let music carry you to a special place of prayer.

If you have such a network, use it. You'll find that there's no difference between giving and receiving when you're with like-minded people. As your presence enriches others, their presence enriches you.

The Power of Creativity

One of our biggest gifts is our ability to be creative. This gift unlocks a whole new world for us.

Creativity gives us a chance to express our true selves, or to pretend we're someone else. It gives us a chance to escape, or a chance to confront. The limitless diversity of creativity is magical.

As the weekend approaches, wouldn't it be wonderful to set aside some time to be creative? There are so many ways to express yourself. It can physically manifest through dancing, singing, painting, or writing. Or it can remain unseen, as an imaginary scene or a comforting thought.

The power of the mind is infinite. Creative endeavors can free your soul and bring you to happy places, thus reducing the effects of stress in your life.

Take this weekend to create something magical in your world.

Take Time to Rest

In this hustle and bustle world, slowing down can be viewed as a sign of weakness. It's like no one can be tired anymore without having a "valid" reason. Rest is only for the sick or those going through publicly-known trauma. Of course, I'm being ridiculous to prove a point. The point is that self-care is very important, and getting enough rest is key to physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

Today's card is the Four of Air from Angel Tarot Cards. The picture shows four unicorns in a forest. What stands out most is that the unicorn in the center is lying down, curled up sleeping. She rests.

The other unicorns stand back and allow her, her time. She needs to be alone. She needs to take a break from the stresses and responsibilities of her life. In restful solitude she can take time to reflect on what's going on. In quiet stillness she can meditate before making a decision.

She needs to rest. She needs to spend quiet time alone. This is how she communes with the Higher Realm when life is overwhelming. In doing this, she finds her answers.

And so it is.

Detaching from Negativity

There seems to be an idea floating around that tolerating the lower vibrations of others makes you a better person. While there's something to be said for being kind to others, and seeing the Light of God in each and every person you meet, emotionally attaching yourself to someone who is following a line of darkness or destruction can be quite harmful.

Bringing the negative energies of others into your field does not help you. It doesn't help you grow and it doesn't make you better. It brings lower vibrations to you, and these lower vibrations try to pull you down.

Yes, it's important to get along with others, but if someone is channeling such things as violence, hatred, and self-destructive behaviors, it's perfectly alright to detach from that person. In fact, it's quite healthy.

Detaching doesn't mean turning your back entirely, not does it mean condemning them. It means sending them the best and highest vibrations through the Divine Realm, and keeping a spot open for them in your life when they're able to align themselves with more positive life forces.

This process is difficult on many levels, so if you feel the need to detach from a particular person, ask for Divine Guidance and it will be given to you.

How to Say No and Not Feel Bad About It

So many of us have trouble saying no. There's a joke going around Facebook that "No" is a complete sentence, and if anyone needs a longer explanation, the longer version is "Hell, no."

Joking aside, we tend to feel guilty -- or perhaps more accurately, people try to make us feel guilty -- when we don't do what they want. If you're a people-pleaser (like I am), saying no is one of the most difficult life skills to learn. So how can you say no and not feel bad about it?

The answer is: Listen to Your True Feelings. (Which is a card from the Magical Unicorns deck.) The printed message on the card is "Don't let others talk you into doing something you know is wrong." And this doesn't necessarily only pertain to things that are wrong in a criminal or immoral sense. This pertains to matters that are wrong for you at any given time.

Deep inside, whether you call it a little voice, your intuition, or Divine Guidance, you know what's right for you, and you know what's wrong for you. If someone asks you to do something that's not in alignment with your best and highest self, saying no is the right thing to do.

Try Something New

Friday's post was about stretching your wings and flying, so it seems appropriate that today's card is about trying something new.

Today's card is the Page of Earth. The Page is a messenger, or a message. In this case, The Page is telling us that there is either a change or a need for change in a certain area. Earth relates to matters of Earthly concerns such as money, job, education, and health issues. So, we have a message about changes, or needing to make changes, in our Earthly lives.

Think about what on your Earthly plane that needs to be changed. (Maybe you already know!) Are you interested in pursuing something more challenging? Is a new area of study calling you? Or perhaps a healthier diet or a new exercise plan has been on your mind. Whatever positive change is on your mind, this is the time to do it.

This card indicates that the changes you are going through, or are thinking about going through, are definitely good, positive, and blessed.

Stretch Your Wings and Fly!

Stretch your wings and fly! What a wonderful message!

This message comes from the Queen of Fire (Angel Tarot Cards). Fire: your passions, desires, ideas, oftentimes your career aspirations. The Queen (like a queen bee): taking charge, creating, nesting.

When the Queen of Fire comes up, the Angels are telling you it's your time to shine. Believe in yourself! You have the power and abilities to create what you desire.

For some reason, this seems like such an appropriate card for a Friday. Take this weekend to think about your dreams and desires. Are you living them? Or do they constantly get pushed to the back burner? Is there something you really want to do, but you find yourself making excuses as to why you're not doing it?

If the only thing that's holding you back is you, take this weekend to think about what you would do if your life had no limits. If you could stretch your wings and fly, where would you go?

The Hermit

So many people are afraid to see The Hermit, thinking his presence means loneliness and isolation. They get caught up in the negative connotation of his name -- how can a hermit be a good thing in a society that so highly values popularity? Particularly, they think his presence means lonely and isolated times are coming into their own lives. That would be a sad and ominous message, so it's a good thing it's not true.

The Hermit is about your own spiritual growth, which is the most personal thing there is. You can share your spirituality with as many people as you want, you can draw inspiration from as many sources as you want, but ultimately, your spiritual side is yours, and yours alone. No one can tell you how to walk your journey. Your spiritual path is your choice.

The Hermit is about your own enlightenment. Every deck I know of shows The Hermit carrying a lantern. And that's the key to The Hermit -- his lantern. Because of my background, every time I see him and his lantern I think "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105.) I had to look that up, because I often misquote it. I usually think the quote is, "Jesus is a lamp unto my feet..." which doesn't make sense since I know the quote is from somewhere in Psalms.

But that doesn't really matter, because in my spirituality time isn't quite that linear, and Jesus can be a lamp unto my feet if that's how I feel about Him. Really, any true spirituality can (and will) be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. And that's why The Hermit showed up. To tell you to go ahead and follow the path. The way is already lit for you.

Talk About Your Feelings

Does it help to talk about your feelings? Sometimes it really doesn't. For example, if a "friend" hounds you for details on a subject that upsets you, you don't owe it to her to make yourself upset. But on the other hand, if talking to a true friend quickens the healing process, then it's a good thing.

I'm kind of chatty, so I pretty much never need to be told to "talk about it." But some people just aren't so loose with words. For these people, there's a card in the Magical Unicorn deck called "Talk about your feelings."

It's actually kind of a happy-looking card. (The picture makes me giggle.) The picture is of a brown unicorn (brown unicorn?) talking to a cat.

The cat is a white long-haired cat, who seems wise and interested. The brown unicorn is so much larger than the cat, but he seems to be a bit timid, almost emotionally withdrawn. The cat is motioning with her hand, as if to say, "Go on. It's safe. I care."

What a lovely message. Sometimes we can knock things around in our heads all we want, but we don't get what we need until we share it with someone else -- someone who is wise and safe.

Should I or Shouldn't I?

Should I or shouldn't I? That's the question.

Maybe I won't do anything, because if I wait long enough the problem will solve itself. Or someone else will step in to take care of it. Or, better yet, some cosmic shift will occur that makes everything move in my favor, without me having to actually do anything. Well, maybe sometimes that's true, but sometimes it's not. But how do I know the difference?

I pulled a card from the Angel Tarot deck and it was the Two of Air. "Being unable or unwilling to make a decision."   Yes, that's me. More often than I'd like to admit.

The picture shows two unicorns butting heads. Bumping against each other, getting nowhere, most likely making things worse by wasting time staying right where they are. But wait, their horns are illuminated. Why is that?

The illumination is there because they know -- deep down inside -- they know what to do. The light symbolizes the light of God, and it's manifested through intuition. So while I might spend my time pretending there isn't a problem, or convincing myself I'm right where I'm supposed to be, the Truth says to put an end to self-doubt, have faith in my own wisdom and intuition, and move forward.

It's OK to Be Different

The image is that of a unicorn in a forest. The unicorn's neck is bent down, as she appears to be talking eye-to-eye with a squirrel who's sitting on a stump. The squirrel is poised on his back legs, front paws in the air, tail straight up, holding the unicorn's gaze.

They seem to be having an intensely loving exchange, this unicorn and squirrel. Some would say the unicorn is an imaginary fancy, and others would say the squirrel is a pesky rodent. A fairy tale and a nuisance, these two are quite a pair. Yet, the respect they have for each other is so clear.

Meanwhile, bunnies look on, as if learning from the interchange. A skunk approaches, and no one is scared. It's OK to be different here in this forest. All living things respect each other. The mountain is no better than the tree, and the earth no greater than the sky.

And so it is.

On the Subject of Forgiveness

When I think about forgiveness, I'm reminded of a woman I know who teaches classes on spirituality. She starts each class by standing up, palms open and upward, and with a big smile she asks, "When is God good?" And the class responds, "God is always good."

Sometimes she asks a second time, "When is God good?" And the group says, a little louder this time, "God is aaaaaal-ways good."

And so it is for forgiveness. When should we forgive? We should always forgive. Forgiveness doesn't mean tolerating abuse and it doesn't mean staying in toxic relationships. It means releasing negative feelings and finding, or returning to, a place of inner-peace. Forgiveness requires strength, love, and reflection.

Here are a few quotes to meditate on when forgiveness seems difficult:

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong. ~Mahatma Gahndi

Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.  ~Paul Boese

As long as you don't forgive, who and whatever it is will occupy a rent-free space in your mind. ~Isabelle Holland

Forgiveness is a funny thing.  It warms the heart and cools the sting.  ~William Arthur Ward

Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. ~Suzanne Somers

Five Love Langauges

Years ago, Dr Gary Chapman wrote a book titled Five Love Languages. He contends that the methods we use to communicate with each other can be broken down to five categories, or languages: quality time, gifts, words of affirmation, physical touch, and acts of service. Each of us speak a "primary" love language and a "secondary" love language.

We feel most fulfilled when we are communicating --speaking and being spoken to -- in our primary love language. If you seem to be having difficulty connecting with someone, take a look at how you're communicating.

For example if you notice a co-worker seems to need more reassurance than you do and thrives on positive feedback, her primary love language is most likely words of affirmation. Someone who always shakes hands, hugs, or puts a hand on your arm or back while speaking to you probably has physical touch as a primary love language. If someone needs words of affirmation to feel fulfilled, and she's getting a handshake in the morning and no positive feedback on the results of her work, it's easy to see why she doesn't feel content and secure.

In our dealings with people, if we try to focus in on which love language yields the best response, we'll know which method to use to effectively communicate with that individual.

Bad Reading Gone Good?

I went to a psychic fair a few years ago. When I arrived, I walked around trying to get a feel for who I wanted to get a reading from. I choose a reader, got a reading, and left feeling pretty unhappy about my decision.

He really couldn't provide any answers for me, and when he did speak it was in generalities. The messages he had for me were so generic, that the session was borderline insulting to people who are using their spirituality to truly be of service to others. I left thinking that between the admission fee, parking fee, and reading fee; I had just wasted a lot of money.

In the car on the way home I kept thinking, "I could have done a better job than him." I said that to myself so many times, that I started to analyze it. Could I do a better job? Am I *that* gifted? Or am I just a little disappointed in him? Or could I do this? Well, I quickly talked myself out of the idea of giving readings, even though I had been doing them on an amatuer level for years.

Fast forward a few years, and I finally started to build confidence in my skills, talents, and gifts. I enrolled in the Certified Angel Card Reader course, and expect to get my certificate in about three weeks. I still feel like there's a ton I could learn, but now I realize that learning never ends. When you stop learning, you stop growing.

The "bad reading" ended up being, in a sense, a jumping off point for me. When I look back, I wish I would have picked up on that message a little bit sooner, but I also know that I wasn't ready then. And now I am.

How Do I Find a Good Reader?

When I mention Angel Card readings, or Tarot card readings, to people, I'm often asked something along the line of "How do I know if someone is a good reader?" My answer is, there are no good and bad readers. You may feel a strong connection with a certain card reader or psychic, while someone else you know is blasting the same person for being a fake.

When you're looking for a reader, trust your intuition and let it guide you to the right person. If you're feeling pulled toward a certain person, go with that. Likewise, if you feel skeptical or distrustful toward someone else, go with that. Some readers are highly focused on one particular topic. So if you know a reader who does a lot of readings about love and romance, and you have career concerns, there's probably something causing you to hesitate. It doesn't make that person a bad reader. It just means that it's not the best time for you two to connect.

Likewise, sometimes the Angels just don't think it's in your best interest to have certain information right now. So they don't answer your question. Or they may have a message that they've been trying to give you on other levels. If they haven't been able get through to you, they'll use a reading to deliver their message, regardless of what your question was.

I hope that clears things up a bit. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post about a "bad" reading I received, that turned out to be a very important "message in disguise."

Food, Exercise, and Taking Care of Yourself

Weight and health issues are a big concern for a lot of people. Our relationship with food can be so complex. I think we all have a good idea of what and how we should be eating, but putting that into practical application is a different story. The same goes for exercise.

Our eating habits and activity levels boil down to our willingness to take care of ourselves.  And I say willingness, because we have the ability to take care of ourselves, we just don't always carry it out.

As I thought about this topic, I realized I don't need to pull a card. The messages to take care of ourselves are all around us. I read a page from Doreen Virtue's Daily Guidance from Your Angels this morning, and the message is to surrender your cares. Then I logged on Facebook and saw "It is crucial to be diligent about taking care of ourselves, especially during stressful periods." (...In All Our Affairs

Sometimes we eat for emotional reasons, and if we ask the Angels, the Ascended Masters, Father/Mother God, or a Higher Power (whoever you pray to) to take those concerns from us, the motive behind the eating binge disappears. When we don't have enough time or energy to exercise, we can ask the Divine Realm to make a way for exercise to be easier for us.

Taking care of ourselves IS crucial. When we are able to put down the worries of the world we're able to feel centered and peaceful, and that makes taking care of ourselves so much easier.

"I'm not smiling because I'm stronger than my problems. I'm smiling because God is stronger than my problems." Mhar

When to End a Friendship

The question of when to end a friendship can be tricky. There are matters of loyalty, trust, and history involved. And then there's that ego-voice in the back of our minds telling us we *have* to get along with others, it wouldn't be very spiritually advanced of us to not to like someone. But to stay centered in our highest spiritual selves, we sometimes do need to cut ties with people who are bringing toxic energies to our lives.

I pulled one card today, to see what the angels had to say about ending a friendship. The card was Queen of Fire. I was a little surprised to see Fire, and not Water or Air, but I trust the angels. Fire is desires, and the Queen can be yourself, or creating. So create your desires.

The message written on the card is "Stretch your wings and fly." Additional messages of this card are "Don't underestimate yourself," and "You'll naturally attract other people to assist you."

If someone in your life is weighing you down, so you're not able to spread your wings and fly, it's absolutely okay to distance yourself, even if it means ending a friendship. Have faith in yourself, healthier relationships are coming.
